Physical and chemical properties:White or ivory-white finr grained crystalline.Soluble in acetone,ethyl acetate and acetic anhydride, and slightly soluble in water, benzene, tetrachloromethane and chloroform. Density is 2.097. Melting point is 173-175 and it decomposes at 182. Minimum content of active bromine is 44.5%.
Usage: Material of organic synthesis. Use in brominating reaction and in preparation rubber assistants and pharmaceuticals.
